Fay Debaillie is an illustrator from Bruges and loves to illustrate characters and the presence of environments that helps the imaginary to compose the storytellings feelings.

Fay lives and breathes art, but she only found that again out when she was at a really low point in her life. In a depressive rut, she started seeing a therapist, who helped her begin the terrifying process of figuring out who she was and what wanted from life.

Although she has been drawing since she could remember – her parents called her doodle, hence the name doodlefay! -, she lost track of what thrives her and what gave her energy. Spurred by a familiar urge to make things, she began taking up drawing again and re-discovered her love for art.

For her, illustration is her way of communicating – her mother tongue. Hardworking, constant and curious, she enjoys making illustrations that could be a part of a children’s book. Her work defines as childlike, colourful and elegant, with a synthesis of shapes and colours that define her unique and personal style.

She’s very fond of a mixture of watercolors, crayons and gouache textures, brush marks, and a solid color pallet that transmits emotions and the warmth of handmade aesthetics.

She is building momentum and seizing opportunities as they come. If you want to have a piece of art from her or hire her for a project, contact Fay at doodlefayillustrates@gmail.com
